Here are my guiding principles for this project.
- Consistency. Contradictions, plot holes, retcons, and loose ends will be hunted down and resolved.
- Subjectivity. I will honestly judge every piece of media based on its own merits, how well it fits both materially and thematically with the rest of the story, and how much I like it personally. The main line of critique will be, does this work feel like Star Wars to me?
- Diligence. The internal logic of the Star Wars universe must be maintained. I will carefully consider all possible in-universe consequences of a story decision. I will justify every addition, cut, and edit before making it, and I will keep records of my thought process for future reference.
- Worldbuilding. Locations, species, and other non-plot-related elements can, but do not have to remain canonical even if all references to them are in media that was cut. For example, I could cut The Last Jedi and its plot, but keep the planet of Cantonica.
- Conformity. I will keep original writing to an absolute minimum. I am not a skilled writer of fiction, doubly so for fan fiction. Barring a few tentative exceptions, I will try to work within the bounds of Star Wars media that already exists. I can update the wiki as more Star Wars media is published.
- Diegesis. Apart from appearances, sources, and references, articles on the HeadCanon wiki will take a strictly in-universe perspective. Wookieepedia already documents the totality of out-of-universe Star Wars content and fandom, making it redundant here.
